Today, the jobs that are available range from housewives to directors of companies. As the economy rises, the types of career also increase rapidly. Although there is such a wide variety of career to be taken, the requirements of one and the incentives given by different jobs also vary. This is why some people are in a spot to choose between a career that they are really hoping to work in but pays a low salary, and a job that has a higher salary but they show no interest in it.
First of all, one of the reasons why people take up a job is because they have a family to feed and everyone in the family depends on him for food. If one loses his job, his entire family, including himself, will go hungry and in severe cases, die of hunger. In this situation, the salary that one receives from his employer is way more important than the amount of interest he has in the job.
Secondly, the cost of living of the people living in the twenty-first century is high. As a result, their standard of living has also risen. This can be shown by the handful teenagers going out to work at the age of fourteen. Amazingly, these youths work not because they need to feed themselves or their family, but just to purchase the designer goods of their dreams. A newspaper report has stated that a thirteen-year-old girl spending thousands over dollars to buy designer goods a month. Therefore, this implies that the salary of a job is more important than the job interest of one.
On the other hand, some people take up jobs because they believe that those are the jobs that they can really put their heart in it and work happily, regardless of the salary it gives. Showing interest in the job that one works in is pretty important because one has to spend months, years of even the whole of their lives working in that particular job. If a person is not going to enjoy his job, it is impossible for him to go to work every day, feeling excited about the amount of time that he is going to spend working. Also, he is apparently not going to put as much effort as compared to a job that he loves.
Moreover, everyone has only a life to live. It is up to one if he wants to live it to the fullest and enjoy his one and only life, or earn a lot of money but feel that there is no entertainment at all in the job that he holds. One can only truly work hard and feel that working in a job is worth his time when he shows interest in what he is doing. For instance, if one aspires to be an artist and he wants to pursue his dream and make it come true, he would definitely put in a lot of effort in drawing, even though being as artist may not earn him as much money as working in a big and successful company that has expanded to overseas. While sacrificing the huge amount of money that he could have earned, he has spent his entire life enjoying himself and made his dream come true. Hence, he would not feel that he has wasted his life.
Different people have different aspects when looking for a job. Regardless of whether the salary is high or low, the job is interesting or boring; one has to be satisfied with what he has chosen for himself so that he will live with no regrets.
