Disappointment is the feeling of dissatisfaction due to unmet expectations or when things don’t go the way one wishes it to be. This feeling has nothing to do with being in a good or bad situation. For instance, if someone else wished for a dollhouse but got a doll instead, the latter might be a dream for a less fortunate person. There are several causes and ways to deal with disappointment.
Firstly, being overconfident can get one disappointed. He may not be weak, but he just expected a lot out of himself and thus, is not able to meet his expectations. If that is the circumstance, he has to understand that those who can balance their emotions are winners in life.
In addition, having false ideas about rejection or failure is sometimes another main cause of disappointment. On the contrary, failure is a form of feedback. This tells one that he should change his ways by being more adaptable or more hardworking. Ask someone who has succeeded. He will have failed hundreds, if not thousands of times before reaching his goal. If one is serious about his success, failure should act as a friend which guides him in the right direction.
In conclusion, disappointment is a positive phenomena as it can be a passion which aspires a certain goal, desire, goal or outcome. Besides, as the saying goes, "One's best success comes after their greatest dasappointments".
