Job interest holds greater importance than the salary it gives. How far do you agree with this statement?

'Job interest holds greater importance than the salary it gives.' I agree to this statement to a certain extend.

Holding a job that is of your own interest would definitely mean that you possess passion in your job. You will not find it a bore or a chore to do it. As we spend th majority of our time on our jobs, it is an essential factor for us to stay happy. When one has interest in his job, one will be able to overcome all odds in his job,as he will take the extra mile to find solutions to his problems

When the person works for the sake of his own interest rather than the money, he will not feel that it is a pressure to do the job --- If the job is lost, he will have to worry for his next meal.In other words, he is doing his job in a non-pressurising state of mind, which will lead to a better job performance and result.

From the idiom, A rolling stone gathers no moss. If one has interest in his job, he will not be "job hopping". In this way, he is able to stay long in his job and make it a successful career.

On the other hand, salary is also an another major factor when one considers a job. If a person comes frpm a not so well-to-do family, he needs to find a job with a higher salary to contribute to his family's expenditure.

In the event that one chooses a job because of it's high salary, it could be that he needs the cash to satisfy his own materialistic desire. With more cash in hand, he is able to purchase branded stuff, drive a flashy cars and has the '5Cs' - cars, credit cards, cash, condominium, country club membership. With all these, he has to pay monthly instalments which prompts him to choose a job with higher pay.

Whether a person chooses his job based on his interest or higher salary based, it all boils down to personal needs, job interest give one emotional satisfactory while high salary based gives one materialism satisfaction.
